AMC 8 Prep Class

This course is for students preparing for the AMC 8 examination. The course will focus on AMC 8 examination practice and strategies. The course will cover topics and skills that are essential for competition mastery. Students will increase their mathematical knowledge and ability through preparation for the examination, and will learn many concepts and skills not taught in the public schools.

There is no textbook for the course. All study material will be provided by the teacher.

Class Schedule: Sunday, 3:30 to 5:00 PM Central Time

Class Dates: 2021 – 11/7, 11/14, 11/21, 11/28, 12/5, 12/12, 12/19 – 2022 – 1/2, 1/9, 1/16

Location: Classes will be taught online ZOOM. Students will receive the ZOOM login information after registration and before classes begin.

Mathematics Professor Jianzhong Wang

Professor Wang has been a full professor at Sam Houston State University since 2003. He has more than thirty years of experience in teaching mathematical courses, including six years of high school teaching experience. At Sam Houston State University, he has taught twenty different courses, including College Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and other courses at senior level and in mathematics and statistics graduate programs. He is also a strong researcher.  He has published over 80 research papers, one graduate textbook, one research monograph, and received several research grants, including grants from National Sciences Foundations.
